Beckhams Hit Billionaire Status As Oasis Brothers Enter UK Rich List
Former England football star David Beckham and his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, have officially joined the billionaire ranks after their combined fortune was estimated at £1.2 billion in the latest Sunday Times Rich List.
The achievement makes Beckham the first British sports personality to reach billionaire status, according to the annual wealth ranking.
The 2026 edition of the list also saw Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher make their debut among the UK’s richest individuals and families, with their combined wealth estimated at £375 million.

The Gallagher brothers’ entry comes amid renewed commercial success surrounding Oasis and continued earnings from music royalties, tours, and related ventures.
For the fifth consecutive year, businessmen Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja retained the top spot on the list with an estimated fortune of £38 billion through their multinational Hinduja Group business empire.
The annual ranking highlighted major gains for several entrepreneurs, including Revolut co-founder Nik Storonsky and trading businessman Alex Gerko, who emerged among the year’s biggest financial risers.
According to the publication, the UK currently has 157 billionaires, marking a decline compared to previous years.
King Charles also recorded a rise in personal wealth, with his estimated fortune increasing to £680 million, placing him ahead of former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty on the list.
Meanwhile, some high-profile figures experienced major financial declines.
Inventor Sir James Dyson reportedly saw his fortune fall significantly, while Manchester United part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe also recorded a drop in wealth compared to last year.
The Sunday Times linked some of the financial setbacks to global economic pressures and tariffs affecting international businesses.
New entrants to the rich list also include Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis and her family, whose fortune was estimated at £400 million.
Businessman Christopher Harborne also featured prominently following increased public attention over his political donations in the UK.
The annual survey additionally included celebrities and public figures such as Sir Elton John, JK Rowling, Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Lewis Hamilton, and Charlotte Tilbury.
The list is compiled using identifiable assets such as property, company shares, art collections, and other investments, although private bank account holdings are not included in the calculations.
Separately, boxer Tyson Fury was named among the debutants on the publication’s “40 Under 40” rich list, which highlights younger entrepreneurs and wealthy public figures across the UK.
