Diddy Shifts Allegiance to Charlie Sloth’s Au Vodka Amid Ongoing Cîroc Lawsuit
In the midst of his legal battle with Cîroc’s parent company, Diageo, music mogul Diddy has officially distanced himself from Cîroc and embraced UK personality Charlie Sloth’s Au Vodka, proclaiming it the “number one” vodka.
Diddy made this declaration backstage during his recent London show at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Tuesday night, where he was seen with Au Vodka in hand. He commended Sloth for building the brand from the ground up, emphasizing the importance of support within the industry.
The rapper, known for his association with Cîroc, expressed his pride in Sloth’s achievement, stating, “Shit nice and smooth too. Shit feel like London!”
During the event, Diddy surprised fans by bringing out his former Bad Boy signee Shyne, who performed tracks from his 2000 album. Diddy praised Shyne’s commitment to the people of Belize, hinting at a potential political future for the rapper.
Amidst his legal proceedings, Diddy secured a victory in September when a judge rejected Diageo’s attempt to dismiss the case or resolve it privately through arbitration. The case is now set to proceed in the New York Supreme Court.
Diddy’s lawsuit, filed in May, accuses Diageo of discriminatory practices in handling Cîroc vodka and DeLeón tequila. The rapper claims that Diageo favored other celebrity-branded products while neglecting resources for Cîroc and DeLeón. He also alleges racial insensitivity in the launch of Cîroc’s watermelon flavor, emphasizing the historical connotations associated with the fruit.
As Diddy’s legal battle continues, he stands by his pursuit of “fair and equal treatment for everyone,” stating, “This isn’t just about me. We all deserve the same 24 hours.”
In the wake of Diddy’s declaration, Charlie Sloth’s Au Vodka, inspired by gold and available internationally in various flavors, gains prominence in the competitive vodka market.
