Nigerian Breweries Appoints Nkechi Runsewe As Human Resources Director
Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Nkechi Runsewe as its new Human Resources Director, effective August 1, 2026.
Runsewe succeeds Grace Omo-Lamai, who is set to retire on July 28, 2026, after nearly ten years of service with the company.
According to the brewer, Runsewe joins the organisation from HEINEKEN, where she most recently served as Global Head of Talent Management. In her new role, she will be responsible for advancing Nigerian Breweries’ EverGreen 2030 strategy by strengthening organisational structure, leadership development, workforce capabilities, and performance management systems.
Commenting on the appointment, Thibaut Boidin described Runsewe’s arrival as timely for the company’s growth ambitions. He noted that her extensive experience in talent development and organisational transformation would support efforts to build a future-ready workforce and enhance business performance.
Before her latest position at HEINEKEN, Runsewe served as Regional Talent Lead for Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. Her career also includes senior leadership roles at Etisalat (now e&), M-Net Africa, and Diageo, giving her experience across telecommunications, media, consulting, financial services, and consumer goods sectors.
Speaking on her appointment, Runsewe said she was honoured to join Nigerian Breweries during a significant phase in its corporate journey. She expressed her commitment to strengthening leadership development, expanding the company’s talent pipeline, and fostering a workplace culture that supports employee growth and long-term business success.
The company also paid tribute to outgoing Human Resources Director Grace Omo-Lamai for her contributions over the past decade. Nigerian Breweries credited her leadership with advancing its people-focused initiatives and workplace culture, achievements that contributed to several recognitions, including Great Place To Work certification and Top Employer awards in Nigeria and Africa.
The leadership transition comes as Nigerian Breweries continues efforts to strengthen its workforce and position itself for sustainable growth under its long-term strategic roadmap.
