Burna Boy’s Mother Urges Singer to Settle Down and Start a Family
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has received some personal advice from his mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, who encouraged him to consider marriage and starting a family.
Mrs Ogulu made the remark during a private celebration marking Burna Boy’s 35th birthday on July 2, attended by close friends and family. A video from the event, later shared on Snapchat by one of the singer’s associates, Richie 7, captured the light-hearted exchange.
During the celebration, Burna Boy was invited to make a birthday wish.
“I wish for good health and prosperity,” the singer said.
His mother immediately responded, “Add good wife and children.”
The exchange has since attracted attention on social media, with fans reacting to Mrs Ogulu’s public wish for her son’s future.
Burna Boy has previously spoken about his decision to remain unmarried and without children. In an earlier interview, the singer explained that his demanding music career leaves him with little time to dedicate to family life.
He said he does not want to have children outside marriage or become a father without being fully present in their lives, noting that his current schedule as a musician at the peak of his career makes such a commitment difficult.
