Ayra Starr, Gabzy, Others Join Burna Boy & Tems to Headline Afro Nation’s Epic 5th Anniversary
Afro Nation, the world’s biggest Afrobeats and Amapiano festival, is set to celebrate its fifth anniversary in 2025 with a stellar lineup of music’s hottest stars. Following the announcement of Burna Boy and Tems as headliners earlier this week, the festival has now confirmed even more big names for its LIT Stage, including Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr and London-based Afro-fusion artist Gabzy.
From July 9th to 11th, 2025, Afro Nation will return to the stunning beaches of Portimão, Portugal. The latest lineup additions include two of France’s top hip-hop acts, Franglish and Tiakola, alongside Afro-Congo star Innoss’B. Ayra Starr, known for her distinctive sound and high-profile collaborations, joins the growing list of artists who will electrify the stage.
In addition to the Afrobeats stars, the Amapiano genre will be represented by its top talent. Piano People, global ambassadors of the South African sound, will headline with DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small—also known as the Scorpion Kings—making their debut in Portugal. DBN Gogo, a multi-platinum Amapiano DJ, will also take centre stage after a remarkable year. The lineup will be further enriched by South African electronic music legend Oskido, rising star Rosey Gold, and a host of other artists like Vigro Deep, Mörda, and KMAT.
Since its inception in 2019, Afro Nation has grown into a cultural phenomenon, uniting fans from over 160 countries and showcasing the best of African music, fashion, and dance across three continents. As the festival celebrates its milestone fifth year, anticipation is building for what promises to be an unforgettable event.
The Malachite Group (TMG), which organises the festival, said: “We told you 2025 was going to be special, and this is just the beginning. Our fifth anniversary party in Portugal is going to be one to remember, so don’t miss out!”
With the excitement around Afro Nation Portugal 2025 continuing to grow, TMG has planned a series of pre-events, including Afro Nation Presents LIT at Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace and Piano People Presents Kelvin Momo at Troxy in London. These events, starting in October 2024, will set the tone for the festivities leading up to the main event in Portugal next summer.
Afro Nation Portugal 2025 will take place from July 9th to 11th, with ticket pre-sales starting on October 2nd at 10 a.m. BST, followed by the general sale on October 3rd.
