UBA to Host Business Series on Innovation and Customer-Centred Technology for African Startups
United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has announced the next edition of its quarterly UBA Business Series, with a focus on how African entrepreneurs can use customer feedback to develop technology solutions tailored to the continent’s unique needs.
The virtual event, themed “Building for Africa’s Realities: Turning Consumer Feedback into Technology-Driven Solutions,” is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 16 July 2026, at 11:00 a.m. (WAT). It will be streamed live across the bank’s digital platforms, including its official YouTube channel, allowing participants from across Africa and beyond to join the conversation online.
This edition will feature discussions led by a panel of entrepreneurs and investors with experience building businesses for African markets. Confirmed speakers include rapper and entrepreneur M.I Abaga, Ashim Egunjobi, co-founder of Octerra Capital, and Femi Aluko, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chowdeck. The session will be moderated by media entrepreneur Adaora Mbelu.
The speakers are expected to share practical insights from their entrepreneurial journeys, highlighting the importance of understanding customer needs, developing market-relevant products, supporting startup growth, and using consumer feedback to refine technology-driven solutions in a rapidly evolving business environment.
Speaking ahead of the event, UBA’s Group Head of Brands, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, said the initiative reflects the bank’s continued support for entrepreneurship and innovation across Africa.
She noted that successful African businesses are distinguished by their ability to listen to customers, adapt to changing market demands, and build solutions that address local realities.
According to Ladipo, the Business Series is intended to provide entrepreneurs with practical knowledge while creating a platform for meaningful conversations around product development, technology, innovation and business growth.
The UBA Business Series has become one of the bank’s flagship knowledge-sharing initiatives, bringing together entrepreneurs, business executives and professionals to discuss emerging trends, share experiences and explore strategies for building resilient and sustainable businesses.
