Actress Halima Abubakar Cries Out for Financial Help Amid Health Struggles
Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has made an emotional plea for financial assistance, revealing her ongoing battle to make ends meet.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, the actress appeared visibly unwell as she opened up about her struggles following her suspension from Nollywood.
Expressing her frustration, Abubakar accused her colleagues and a former close friend of betraying her. She lamented that despite her health challenges, some people had accused her of lying about being sick.
“People are confused about what is happening. I’m not feeling fine, but I try to be strong. I pretend to be okay, but this is the real me,” she said. “I post pictures with TikTok filters, but this is how I truly look. How could someone say I’m lying about my health?”
She further revealed that she had spent over a year in her village before recently relocating to access medical care. Although doctors have ruled out major medical concerns, she said she still requires an MRI scan and other health assessments.
“My BP is 157. What am I thinking? My own best friend said I was lying, yet never came to check on me,” she added tearfully.
Abubakar, who has not featured in a movie for over six years, questioned why she continues to face backlash even after her suspension from Nollywood in October 2024 over alleged professional misconduct.
“Do you want me to die or kill myself? I am heartbroken. Can’t you all see how I look?” she asked.
