Renowned Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has clinched the number one position on the list of the most followed Nigerians across various social media platforms. The entertainment statistics company, Top Charts Africa, released the list on Tuesday, revealing Davido’s impressive total of 56.1 million followers.
The ‘OBO’ crooner’s substantial social media presence has solidified his position as a social media influencer, capturing the attention of millions across Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and TikTok.
Securing the second position is Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, boasting 38.6 million followers, closely trailed by Wizkid, who holds the third spot with 38.4 million followers.
In the realm of female artists, Afropop sensations Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage are tied with 34.3 million followers each, securing the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
The top ten list further includes popular figures such as actress Mercy Johnson (33.5 million followers), music executive Don Jazzy (30.1 million followers), singer Simi (29.9 million followers), skit maker Mark Angel (29.7 million followers), and actress Regina Daniels (28.7 million followers).
Top Charts Africa based its rankings on the cumulative followers across Instagram, X, Facebook, and TikTok. Davido’s social media dominance reflects not only his musical success but also his widespread influence and engagement across various online platforms.
