Adekunle Gold Thanks Olamide for Pivotal Role in His Music Career

LAGOS, NIGERIA – Renowned Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has publicly expressed his gratitude to rapper Olamide for the significant role he played in launching his music career.

Taking to social media, Adekunle Gold acknowledged Olamide for welcoming him into the YBNL Nation music label. Olamide founded YBNL in 2012 following the release of his second studio album, “YBNL.”

Adekunle Gold joined the label in 2015 and released his debut album, “Gold,” under its banner. After the expiration of his contract, he departed from YBNL to continue his musical journey independently.

On Friday, Adekunle Gold shared a cover of his debut album on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his heartfelt thanks to Olamide. “Thank you @olamide for giving that young graphic designer the chance to not only design the YBNL logo but to be a part of your family,” he wrote.

This public appreciation highlights the impact of mentorship and support within the Nigerian music industry, with Olamide’s YBNL Nation serving as a crucial stepping stone for many successful artists.
