Andrew Fletcher, Depeche Mode Founding Member, Dies at 60
Earlier today, English electronic music band, Depeche Mode announced the death of one of its founding members, 60-year-old Andrew Fletcher.
The band shared the news of his passage via its social media account in two posts – one had his picture while the second was the announcement and tribute. Below are the posts dedicated to Fletcher’s passing.
“We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member, and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher,” reads the statement released by the band.
“Fletch had a true heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh, or a cold pint.
“Our hearts are with his family, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and respect their privacy in this difficult time.”
Details of his death remain sketchy as the bad made no mention of how he died.
