Apple Rumored to Expand iPhone 16 Series with Five Models, Including iPhone 16 SE

As anticipation builds for Apple’s next iPhone lineup, rumours suggest that the tech giant might unveil as many as five models in its upcoming iPhone 16 series, including two iPhone 16 SE models. Speculations have surfaced from prominent tipster Majin Bu on X (formerly Twitter), hinting at potential designs, pricing, and other details.

According to leaked schematics, the iPhone 16 series could introduce five distinct models, incorporating the iPhone SE line into this year’s flagship lineup. Renderings depict various camera configurations across the models, with the iPhone 16 SE and iPhone 16 Plus SE featuring a single pill-shaped rear camera layout reminiscent of the iPhone X.

In contrast, the standard iPhone 16 is depicted with a dual rear camera unit, while the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max showcase a triple rear camera setup. These designs align with previous leaks, showcasing vertical camera arrangements with pill-shaped camera bumps, departing from the square-shaped camera bump of the current iPhone 15 series.

Reports suggest that the iPhone 16 SE might boast a 6.1-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the iPhone 16 Plus SE could offer a larger 6.7-inch screen with a 60Hz refresh rate. Both models are rumoured to feature the Dynamic Island feature. The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro variants are speculated to sport 6.3-inch screens with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max may flaunt a larger 6.9-inch display with the same refresh rate.

Additionally, potential pricing details for the iPhone 16 series have emerged, with the iPhone 16 SE starting at $699 (approximately Rs 58,000) for the 128GB model, and the iPhone 16 SE Plus priced at $799 (around Rs 66,000) for the 256GB variant.

The vanilla iPhone 16 with 256GB storage is rumoured to retail for $699, while the 256GB versions of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may cost $999 (approximately Rs 83,000) and $1099 (roughly Rs 91,000), respectively.

While these details are not official and should be taken with caution, Apple is expected to announce its 2024 iPhones in September.
