Apple Rumored to Unveil Hybrid iPad in 2025 and Foldable iPhone in 2026

Speculation surrounding Apple’s venture into the realm of foldable devices has gained momentum, with reports suggesting the tech giant is poised to introduce its inaugural hybrid iPad in 2025, followed by a foldable iPhone in 2026.

Adding weight to previous rumours, a new investor note from Haitong Securities analyst Jeff Pu asserts that Apple is diligently developing two folding devices aimed at penetrating the ultra-high-end market segment. The proposed hybrid iPad is rumoured to boast a substantial 20.3-inch display, while the folding iPhone could feature either a 7.9-inch or 8.3-inch screen.

While Pu’s claims align with previous reports from credible sources, such as TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young, there remains speculation about the exact timeline and specifications of these anticipated devices.

Kuo had previously hinted at the development of a folding MacBook with a 20.3-inch screen but suggested it might not reach mass production until 2027. Similarly, Young had suggested the possibility of a 20-inch foldable hybrid device from Apple, potentially debuting in 2026 or 2027.

Amidst the flurry of rumours, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also corroborated Apple’s exploration of folding device concepts, particularly a folding MacBook/iPad hybrid sporting a 20-inch display.

While these reports offer tantalizing insights into Apple’s potential future endeavours, they remain unverified rumours. As such, enthusiasts and industry observers are advised to await official confirmation from Apple before drawing definitive conclusions about the company’s product roadmap.
