Apple Updates List of Obsolete iPhones: If You Have One, You Will Not be Able to Repair or Update it

In a yearly ritual that echoes the excitement of new product launches, Apple enthusiasts await the unveiling of the latest iPhone models. However, alongside the introduction of new devices, comes a sombre event for older iPhone owners – the addition of their devices to Apple’s list of obsolete products.

This year, the iPhone 6 Plus has met this fate. Released in September 2014, the iPhone 6 Plus was a groundbreaking device, featuring a large 5.5-inch HD Retina display and Touch ID. It boasted an 8-megapixel iSight camera with optical image stabilization, setting new standards for smartphone photography. Equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack, it offered users a comprehensive multimedia experience.

However, as technology evolves, older models inevitably reach the end of their lifecycle. The iPhone 6 Plus now joins the ranks of obsolete iPhones, meaning that Apple Retail Stores and Authorized Service Providers will no longer offer repair or hardware services for the device. This decision effectively renders the phone unrepairable through official channels, leaving users with limited options for maintenance or troubleshooting.

For owners of the iPhone 6 Plus, this development signals the end of an era. While the device played a significant role in the evolution of smartphones, its journey concludes as Apple shifts its focus towards newer products and technologies.

The list of obsolete iPhones is as follows:
