Ayo Maff Embraces Chill Vibes with New Single ‘Lazy Baby’

Fast-rising Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayo Maff has released his newest single, ‘Lazy Baby’, a laid-back anthem that celebrates the joy of doing absolutely nothing. The track, produced by godOmarr, dropped at midnight WAT and serves as the lead single for his upcoming debut album, Prince of the Street.

At just 19, Ayo Maff – real name Ayorinde Mafoluku Ayodele – continues to make a strong impression in the Afrobeats scene. Since his 2023 breakout with Jama Jama, the Lagos-born artist has built a reputation for blending streetwise authenticity with infectious melodies, and Lazy Baby is no exception.

True to its title, the song taps into the pleasure of slowing down, embracing relaxation over hustle. With breezy rhythms, a mellow groove, and introspective lyrics, Ayo Maff paints a picture of unapologetic ease. In one standout verse, he rejects rigid expectations with a dose of humor and honesty: “Fuck my maths teacher Mr Wande / Pythagoras theory I never use am one day.”

Lazy Baby follows recent singles like Panic and Dealer, his collaboration with Fireboy DML, which earned millions of views and streaming numbers earlier this year. His August 2024 debut EP Maffian further cemented his place in Nigeria’s vibrant street-pop movement, showcasing his lyrical grit and melodic flair.

As anticipation builds for Prince of the Street, Lazy Baby positions Ayo Maff as a voice of his generation – fearless, relatable, and refreshingly relaxed. With this latest release, he’s not just making music – he’s setting a mood.
