Ayra Starr Admits She Often Dislikes Her Songs After Recording
Nigerian Afrobeats star Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has revealed that she is often unsatisfied with her songs after recording them.
The ‘Rush’ hitmaker admitted that each time she listens to her own music, she feels there is always room for improvement. However, she made an exception for her latest hit, ‘Woman Commando’, featuring Anitta and Coco Jones, describing it as one of the few songs she feels is perfect every time she hears it.
“I usually don’t like my songs after recording. It’s so bad. I don’t even know why,” she said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “I just feel like it can get better and better, and I just keep trying to go, go, go until it’s perfect.”
Reflecting on ‘Woman Commando’, she added, “That was the song where I felt like, okay, I went crazy on this one. This is dope.”
Ayra Starr, who has been making waves in the global Afrobeats scene, previously shared that she listens to artists like SZA, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Rema in her free time, drawing inspiration from their music.
