B-Red Addresses Online Criticism and the Challenges of Fame
Nigerian artist Adebayo Adeleke, better known as B-Red, has spoken candidly about the challenges of online criticism that come with fame. The singer, who is also a cousin to Afrobeat superstar Davido, shared his perspective during a recent interview with City FM.
When asked about his feelings regarding the frequent online criticism aimed at his cousin Davido, often sparked by rivalries with other artists like Wizkid, B-Red described such backlash as an unavoidable aspect of being in the public eye.
He expressed that no matter how accomplished a person may be, scrutiny and criticism are a given in the world of fame. “If you don’t get dragged, you never blow,” B-Red remarked, underscoring the idea that being talked about—whether positively or negatively—is part of a celebrity’s reality.
He further noted that even global icons like Michael Jackson were not exempt from public scrutiny and online abuse. “Even the greats like Michael Jackson—if you post a picture of them, there’ll be people who abuse them. Fame comes with everybody having something to say about you. That’s just life,” he added.
B-Red’s comments reflect a broader sentiment about the pressures celebrities face in navigating both acclaim and criticism in the digital age.
