Paul Walker’s Brother Cody Names Newborn Son After Late Actor
Cody Walker, the brother of the late actor Paul Walker, has chosen to honor his sibling by naming his newborn son after him.
Cody, 34 years old, was devastated when Paul tragically died in a car crash at the age of 40, ten years ago.
He recently revealed that he and his wife, Felicia Knox, have named their baby boy Paul in memory of the beloved actor. The newborn, Paul Barrett Walker, affectionately called “Bear,” arrived on Sunday, April 30, weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces in Arizona.
Cody, who already has a five-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son with his wife, expressed his decision, saying, “This November will mark 10 years since we lost my brother, Paul, and I just felt now was the appropriate time.”
He went on to explain that the name Paul has deep significance within their family, spanning four generations.
Their father was Paul William Walker IV, and even though the late actor quickly surpassed their father in height, he was known as “Little Paul” or “Paul 4.” Cody wanted to ensure that the name and legacy would continue.
Beyond naming his son after Paul, Cody is actively involved in keeping his brother’s memory alive.
He participates in FuelFest, a motorsports festival that celebrates car culture and raises funds for Reach Out Worldwide, a non-profit charity established by Paul in 2010.
The charity was born out of Paul’s firsthand experience witnessing the devastation caused by a major earthquake in Haiti.
When Paul passed away, he had not completed filming his role in ‘Furious 7.’
The film was eventually released after extensive rewrites and the inclusion of stand-ins, including Cody and their brother Caleb.
Paul’s daughter, Meadow, who was 15 years old at the time of his death, carries on his legacy through the Paul Walker Foundation.
In an interview with Page Six last year, Meadow shared that she finds comfort in watching her father’s films, stating, “They always say the first thing you forget about someone is their voice, so I’m fortunate enough to have his voice in many movies. I like to watch (his movies) at night. For me, it brings me joy to talk about him and keep his spirit alive.”
