Basketmouth Announces Full-Time Focus on Music and Movies in 2025
Renowned Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has revealed plans to transition fully into music and filmmaking in 2025.
Speaking in a recent interview with Pulse, the entertainer shared that while comedy brought him fame, his true passion has always been music and movies.
“I’m going to take music more seriously in 2025. I want to create EPs because there are some artists I want to work with,” Basketmouth stated. He also disclosed his intention to prioritize filmmaking, noting, “Movies are my first choice. I’ve always prioritised movies over comedy, but I haven’t made one yet.”
Reflecting on his career journey, Basketmouth described his entry into comedy as unexpected. Initially pursuing a music career, he turned to comedy after struggling to find success in music.
“I started with music, but I saw that it wasn’t going to work. I’ve always been funny, but music was just a talent I felt I could play with. Rap was my thing, but it wasn’t going the way I wanted. Then I tried comedy, and it was like, ‘this one is working. It must be the one,’” he explained.
Despite turbulence in his early days as a comedian, Basketmouth noted that once he mastered the craft, his career soared to new heights.
The multi-talented entertainer has already released several music projects, blending his comedic flair with his artistic versatility. With this new chapter, fans are eager to see how Basketmouth will shape his legacy in music and film.
