Afrobeats Producer Adey Alleges Police Shot at Him in Lagos
Renowned Afrobeats producer Adegboyega Ikwue Ogunlesi, popularly known as Adey, has accused Nigerian police officers of shooting at him during a recent incident in Lagos.
The producer detailed his ordeal in a series of posts on social media, claiming that officers accused him of attempting to kill them during the encounter. Adey further alleged that the officers endangered his life by grabbing the steering wheel of his car, and nearly driving him into a ditch.
“Nigerian police shot at me today, claimed I tried to kill them, and almost totalled my car by grabbing the steering wheel and driving me into a ditch,” he wrote on his X account.
Expressing frustration, Adey lamented about police brutality and his weariness with the situation in Nigeria.
The Lagos State Police Command has yet to issue a statement addressing the allegations. This incident adds to ongoing concerns over police conduct and public safety in the country.
