Fireboy DML Gives Hard Advice to Aspiring Musicians
Nigerian music star Fireboy DML offered valuable advice to emerging artists in a recent interview with Brook Asther of Office Magazine. As he gears up for the release of his upcoming album, Fireboy emphasises the importance of developing a unique musical identity.
“Finding your sound is the beginning of everything,” Fireboy asserted. “It’s not about chasing favours or connections. Those who can help you need to see something special in you first. You have to put in the work; otherwise, there’s nothing for them to notice.”
Fireboy also highlighted the dedication required to succeed in the music industry. “The game is a very jealous mistress,” he remarked with a laugh. “Music is demanding. I had to sacrifice many dreams to become who I am today. Music is selfish. You have to be ready to sacrifice almost everything to achieve success.”
Despite these challenges, Fireboy reassured aspiring artists that their commitment would eventually pay off. “If you put in the effort,” he said, “everything else will fall into place – the money, the fame, the investors, the backing, the support, the fans. Everything will come together. Find your sound.”
