Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” Hits No. 1 on Billboard Global 200 Chart

Beyoncé’s country single, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” has surged to the top spot on Billboard’s Global 200 chart, marking her first-ever No. 1 on the prestigious ranking.

The Global 200, launched in September 2020, evaluates songs based on streaming and sales data from over 200 regions worldwide. In its second week on the chart, “Texas Hold ‘Em” climbed three spots to No. 1, boasting 59.6 million streams and 43,000 sales units, according to a report from Billboard on Monday (February 26).

This achievement follows Beyoncé’s historic milestone as the first Black woman to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with the same track, “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

Last week, Billboard unveiled that both “Texas Hold ‘Em” and Beyoncé’s other new single, “16 Carriages,” debuted on the Hot Country Songs chart, with the latter entering at No. 9.

Released as a surprise in early February after Beyoncé’s announcement during a Verizon commercial at Super Bowl LVIII, these tracks will feature on her upcoming album, “Renaissance: act ii,” slated for release on March 29.

Speculations among fans about Beyoncé’s venture into country music intensified following hints like her country-inspired appearance at the 2024 Grammy Awards and a lyric in her 2019 single, “Black Parade.”

While Beyoncé’s camp has not confirmed or denied rumors about her album trilogy, initial reports suggested “Renaissance” as an acoustic album, with “Act III” rumored to be a collaboration with JAY-Z.

Days after the release of the country singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em” made its debut on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart at No. 54, amassing 1.1 million in audience via 100 stations during the tracking week ending February 15, as reported by Billboard.
