Blackface Insists Artists Have Stolen His Songs Without Denial

Veteran Nigerian singer Blackface has reiterated his claim that several colleagues in the music industry have used his intellectual property without acknowledgement. Addressing the widespread notion that he frequently accuses others for attention, the artist maintained that none of the accused has ever denied his allegations.

Speaking in a recent interview with TVC, Blackface explained that his unique style and creativity often attract other artists who emulate his work. However, he expressed disappointment that they fail to give him proper credit.

“People jack my vibes. They love them. It’s not their fault. If I was not me, I would be jacking me too,” Blackface said. He emphasized that every song he has released is officially registered and part of the public domain, making it easy to verify the originality of his work.

“All my songs are being jacked because when you release a song it becomes a published work. The songs are all registered. There’s no song that’s released that’s not registered. Once it is in the public domain, it’s a published work. Was it published before your work?”

The singer also argued that the issue isn’t about proving his claims but about acknowledging the unethical nature of copying someone else’s work without consent or recognition.

“So many Nigerian artists have jacked my songs. And these people that I’ve complained about, they have never for once denied it. So you people would have seen that and say there’s an iota of truth in what Blackface is saying,” he added.

Blackface has been vocal about protecting his intellectual property, and his remarks reignite conversations around copyright and originality in the Nigerian music industry.
