Burna Boy Apologizes To Fans, Explains Reason For Lagos Concert Lateness

Nigerian iconic singer, songwriter, and performer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has issued an apology to his fans, stating why his Lagos headline concert turned out sour.

The African colossus, who had a mind-blowing 2022, including selling out iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden, State Farm Arena, and a slew of other venues around the world, headlined his first show for 2023 in Lagos, but things didn’t go as expected.

The event, which was slated to start by 6 p.m. Nigerian time on January 1, 2022, did not see the African Giant climb the stage as of 3 a.m. Nigerian time on January 2, 2022, which got a lot of fans angry at the singer.

In an event update, the singer apologized to his fans on January 2nd, 2023, stating that, contrary to popular belief, he arrived early for the show with his band, but he couldn’t perform in time due to the organizer’s failure to put the proper sound technicalities in place.

The PH-born singer also stated that he was working to bring investors into the Nigerian music industry in order to address the recurring issue of poor concert planning and execution.
