Busta Rhymes and Young Thug Unleash Collaborative Fire with New Track ‘OK’
Hip-hop heavyweights Busta Rhymes and Young Thug are back in action, dropping their latest collaboration, a scorching track titled “OK.” This release marks the third joint effort between the two artists and offers a sneak peek into what Busta Rhymes has in store with his upcoming Blockbusta LP.
The dynamic musical partnership between Busta Rhymes and Young Thug first caught the spotlight with the summer release of “Beach Ball,” a collaboration that also featured BIA. Building on this momentum, September saw the release of “Luxury Life,” a collaboration with Coi Leray that paid homage to JAY-Z’s “Ain’t No N-gga” by incorporating the iconic “Seven Minutes of Funk” sample and hook melody.
Scheduled for release on November 24, Blockbusta has been generating buzz since its announcement last month through an Instagram post. The post included a virtual meeting with Busta Rhymes and the LP’s executive producers, who are none other than Pharrell, Timbaland, and Swizz Beatz.
Expressing gratitude during the Zoom call, Swizz Beatz remarked, “This project right here is executive produced by the fucking committee — Pharrell the Pharaoh, Timbo the King, Swizz Beatz the student.” Pharrell shared insightful comments about the album, noting, “You really feel illuminated. This illumination is good because I think people gon’ be able to get and feel that.” Timbaland added that the album is “timeless.”
While currently engaged in the Final Lap Tour alongside 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes has been making waves. In contrast, Young Thug awaits trial in the YSL RICO case, with the judge ruling that Thug’s lyrics will be admissible in court to prove various elements of the case.
