Cardi B Reveals Discontent with Atlanta Living Amid Divorce from Offset
Cardi B has opened up about her dissatisfaction with living in Atlanta as she navigates her ongoing divorce from rapper Offset. In an Instagram Live session on Thursday (August 22), the Bronx native shared her candid feelings about her limited connection to the city, despite many believing she lived there full-time with the former Migos member.
During the live stream, Cardi revealed that she primarily resides in New Jersey with her children and only visits Atlanta occasionally. “I don’t live in Atlanta. I have a house in Atlanta, but I only go there three or four times a year, maybe for a week or less,” she explained. Cardi confessed that she attempted to settle in Atlanta in 2018 but quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit for her. “I hated it. I don’t have one friend or family member in Atlanta, so I just don’t like it.”
The session took an unexpected turn when incarcerated rapper Pooh Shiesty made a flirty comment in the chat, writing, “I’m 5 mins away baby, open the door.” Offset appeared to respond indirectly to the incident by posting a series of laughing emojis on X (formerly Twitter).
Cardi’s decision to file for divorce from Offset earlier this month marks the second time the couple has split. According to sources close to the duo, the separation has been “a long time coming,” with both parties struggling to reconnect despite attempts earlier this year.
While the breakup is reportedly amicable, Cardi has hired a prominent divorce attorney and is seeking primary custody of their two children, six-year-old Kulture and two-year-old Wave. She has also clarified that she is not seeking child support but expects Offset to continue covering their children’s expenses.
Addressing rumors surrounding their split, Cardi refuted claims that Offset was not supportive in their family life. “This is getting weird because I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids,” she said, denying that any close friends or family had leaked information to the press.
On the same day she filed for divorce, Cardi also announced that she and Offset are expecting their third child together.
