Chris Pratt’s Super Mario Bros. Movie Beats John Wick 4’s Entire Box Office Run by $117M in Just the Opening Weekend

What people thought would be a hilarious failure turned out to be the complete opposite for Chris Pratt. Giving his voice to the Italian Plumber Mario, The Super Mario Bros. movie literally dominated the box office field by leaving John Wick: Chapter 4 behind!

Talking about the opening weekend, The Super Mario Bros. beat the Keanu Reeves starrer by earning almost $117 million more than the dog-revenge and mafia-killing franchise with just a jumping plumber out to rescue his princess.

Chris Pratt’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie Dominated John Wick: Chapter 4

When it was announced that Chris Pratt was going to voice Mario in an upcoming animated movie, people made memes and jokes about the actor being everywhere. The people mocked the actor and expected the movie to fail miserably at the box office since it was essentially an adaptation of one of the most popular games of all time.

With a simple plotline to save the world from Bowser, Mario takes the help of Luigi and Princess Peach to take on the fight. Well, what more could be expected from a game with jumps and castles? This turned out to be different than what the people expected since The Super Mario Bros. movie dominated the global box office in its opening weekend.

According to statistics, The Super Mario Bros. movie made a whopping $377 on opening weekend at the global box office. Surprisingly enough, the Keanu Reeves starrer John Wick: Chapter 4 earned only $259.3 million at the global box office! Well, maybe people prefer animated wholesome movies over action scenes and ruthless violence or maybe they just needed a break. Either way, it seems that The Super Mario Bros. movie is on its way to becoming a blockbuster as the reviews of the film are quite compelling.

What The People Have To Say About Chris Pratt’s Mario

As stated earlier, Chris Pratt has been in almost every big movie or project in these recent years. During the whole ordeal, there was also talk of Pratt voicing the character of Garfield in an upcoming project which the people despised at the time. After watching The Super Mario Bros. movie, however, it seems that the perspective of the Jurassic World actor has changed.
The people took to Twitter to call it a W-movie and even stated that they have watched it multiple times and yet can’t get enough of it.
