Coca-Cola Replaces Pepsi as Beverage Partner for Domino’s in India
Jubilant FoodWorks (JFL), the operator of Domino’s Pizza and Popeyes in India, has announced a major shift in its beverage partnership. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Coca-Cola Company, marking the end of its collaboration with PepsiCo, which had supplied beverages to Domino’s outlets in India since 2018.
Under the new agreement, JFL will source a range of Coca-Cola beverages, including popular brands like Thums Up, Sprite, and Fanta, from Coca-Cola’s approved bottlers. The partnership also includes joint marketing initiatives to promote these beverages. A formal master agreement is expected to be finalized by April 1, 2025, based on the MoU’s terms.
“We are excited to enter into this new partnership with Coca-Cola India. This collaboration will significantly enhance our consumer offerings and allow us to deliver a wider array of sparkling beverages across our restaurants,” Jubilant FoodWorks stated in an exchange filing.
This move comes shortly after the Jubilant Bhartia Group, JFL’s parent company, acquired a 40% stake in Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCB), Coca-Cola’s largest bottling operation in India.
Previously, Domino’s outlets in India offered PepsiCo’s beverage lineup, including Pepsi, Mountain Dew, 7Up, and Mirinda. With Coca-Cola’s extensive range now replacing PepsiCo’s products, Domino’s and Popeyes patrons can expect a refreshed beverage menu.
Jubilant FoodWorks, a leader in India’s quick-service restaurant (QSR) sector, operates an extensive portfolio that includes franchise rights for Dunkin’ Donuts, as well as homegrown brands like Hong’s Kitchen and Turkish café COFFY. The partnership with Coca-Cola underscores its commitment to enhancing customer experiences and expanding its market presence.
