Concertgoer Files Police Report After Cardi B’s Las Vegas Show

A concertgoer has reported an incident to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) after being struck by an item thrown from the stage during a concert on July 29, 2023, at a property located in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard. Though the police statement did not mention Cardi B, the incident report’s address matches the location of her performance on that day.

Video footage posted to social media showed an audience member throwing a drink toward the stage during Cardi B’s performance at Drai’s Beach Club in Las Vegas. The rapper was seen getting splashed with liquid from the cup while performing her 2018 hit “Bodak Yellow.” In response, Cardi B threw her microphone into the crowd as security guards rushed to the stage and into the crowd.

During the same concert, another video shared on social media showed Cardi B and her DJ asking the crowd to splash her with water due to the heat. It is uncertain whether this request was made before or after the incident with the microphone.

As of now, no arrest or citation has been issued by the police in connection with the incident.

This incident in Las Vegas adds to a series of similar occurrences at concerts where artists have faced objects thrown at them from the audience. Recently, some performers have taken matters into their own hands and responded directly to audience members engaging in behaviour they disapprove of.
