Dame Dash Requests Child Support Reduction, Claims Earning Just Over $5K in 2022

In an ongoing child support battle with ex-wife Rachel Roy, Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash has informed the court that he made a modest sum of just over $5,000 in 2022. The hip-hop mogul is seeking a reduction in child support payments, currently set at $3,000 a month, to $428 a month, citing financial difficulties due to “struggling business ventures.”

Documents obtained by TMZ on Tuesday (January 9) reveal Dame Dash’s assertion that the pandemic has significantly impacted his income, and he is yet to recover. In response to his claims, Rachel Roy disputes his financial situation, pointing to his ownership in Roc-A-Fella as a substantial source of income that he allegedly fails to disclose.

Dame Dash’s request for reduced child support payments hinges on the argument that he cannot afford the current rate due to ongoing challenges in his business endeavors. A judge has not yet ruled on the matter.

This development follows an October interview where Dame Dash explained the complexities of his financial situation on The CEO Show. He emphasized the challenges of starting a new company from scratch without sufficient capital and the difficulty in sustaining previous child support payment levels.

Dash’s child support issues came into public view in 2019 when he was arrested for reportedly owing hundreds of thousands of dollars in support to two different women, including Rachel Roy. The current legal battle continues, with both parties presenting their perspectives on Dame Dash’s financial status and the appropriate child support arrangements.
