Dammy Krane Released After Six Days in Custody, Issues Apology to Davido

Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has been released from police custody after spending six days detained over defamation allegations involving fellow artist Davido. The singer was released on Thursday, August 29, 2024, following his arrest that stemmed from a series of posts he made on social media, accusing Davido of orchestrating his illegal detention.

The news of Dammy Krane’s release was shared by popular social media commentator Verydarkman (VDM) via Instagram. In a video posted by VDM, Dammy Krane publicly apologized to Davido for the accusations he had previously made, including allegations surrounding the death of Tagbo, a friend of Davido’s who passed away in 2017.

In the video, Dammy Krane expressed his regret, saying, “I want to say a big thank you to my brother. There are a lot of words that ought not to be said. I want to apologise for Tagbo’s death allegation. David is still my brother, and we are going to find a major ground to resolve everything.”

VDM, who played a role in advocating for Dammy Krane’s release, also commented on the situation, writing, “Dammykrane is out. Dear @davido, as you have honoured me by listening to my plea in less than 4 hours, God will honour you. I believe God is giving him a second chance, and I hope he focuses on his music moving forward.”

Dammy Krane’s release and subsequent apology mark a significant turn in the public dispute between the two artists, with hopes that the matter can be peacefully resolved.
