Davido Could Someday Become Governor of Osun – Ben Murray-Bruce

Former senator Ben Murray-Bruce has said Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has the potential to become the Governor of Osun State, citing his strong political background and influence.

In a recent episode of his Common Sense series, Murray-Bruce described the singer as more than just a global music star, noting that Davido possesses a keen political mindset shaped by his family’s legacy.

“Davido is not just an international superstar – he’s also politically conscious and ideologically grounded,” Murray-Bruce said. “Given his family background, it’s no surprise. His uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is the current Governor of Osun State, and his late uncle, Isiaka Adeleke, once held the same office during the Babangida era.”

Murray-Bruce suggested that if Davido ever decides to enter politics, he could win, especially as Nigerians begin to embrace entertainers in political roles.

“The idea of Davido contesting for governor one day doesn’t seem far-fetched. If he nurtures his political interests strategically, I believe he has what it takes to succeed,” he added. “Nigerians want leaders who connect with the people – and Davido already does that across generations.”

The statement has sparked renewed debate online about celebrity involvement in politics, especially as younger Nigerians continue to push for leadership that reflects their values and aspirations.
