Femi Adebayo Celebrates as ‘Jagun Jagun’ Secures 7 Nominations at 2024 AMAA
Nollywood star Femi Adebayo is celebrating a major milestone as his film, Jagun Jagun, earned seven nominations at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). The nominations were revealed during an event held in Lagos on Wednesday, attended by members of the jury, the AMAA screening college, and the Africa Film Academy (AFA) board.
Jagun Jagun has been nominated in several prestigious categories for the 20th edition of the AMAAs, including Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Production Design, Achievement in Costume Design, Achievement in Makeup, Achievement in Visual Effects, the Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in an African Language, and the NFVCB Award for Best Nigerian Film.
An elated Adebayo took to Instagram on Thursday to share the exciting news with his followers. “Hey guys, we have done it again! Delighted to announce that Jagun Jagun clinched seven nominations at the 2024 AMAA AWARDS nominee announcement yesterday,” he wrote.
The event drew a number of prominent figures from the Nigerian film industry, including Director General of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Shaibu Husseini, as well as George and Chinyere Anyiam-Osigwe, Kennedy Anyiam-Osigwe, Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, Steve Ayorinde, Francis Onwochei, Sunny McDon, Nobert Young, Segun Arinze, Alex O, Cordelia Okpei, Dr. Queen Blessing Ebigieson, and Charles Novia.
With seven nominations, Jagun Jagun is positioned as one of the standout films of the year, further cementing Femi Adebayo’s place among the leading figures in African cinema.
