Toyin Abraham Responds to Fashion Designer’s Allegations of Unpaid Debt
Nollywood star Toyin Abraham has addressed allegations made by a fashion designer claiming she owes a significant debt. The designer, identified on Instagram as @stitchesbyandra, accused Abraham, alongside actress Annie Idibia and Gabriel Anthony, of owing millions for over a year.
The designer took to Instagram Stories to express her frustration, stating, “@toyin_abraham @annieidibia1 @gabrielanthonys, my patience is running out already. 1 year and 2 months. How can you be with someone’s millions and feel so reluctant?”
In response, Toyin Abraham issued a statement via Instagram on Friday night, denying the claims and clarifying the situation. According to Abraham, the misunderstanding stems from a project she worked on, where dresses were borrowed for a runway scene in the production of Malaika.
“During the production of Malaika, we contacted a few designers for dresses, including Tiannah. Gabriel, a team member, mentioned that a friend of his also wanted to contribute dresses, and she did. I even purchased a hairpiece from her, which I paid for in full. The dresses, however, were borrowed for the shoot, and I returned them to Gabriel after use,” Abraham explained.
She added that after the accusations surfaced online, she contacted Gabriel, who confirmed that the dresses had already been returned to him and were later borrowed by someone else. “Therefore, it is no longer my responsibility,” she concluded, hoping to clear any confusion surrounding the issue.
The actress’s response comes amidst growing online chatter, with fans and industry peers closely watching the unfolding drama.
