Selena Gomez Joins Bloomberg’s Billionaire List with Rare Beauty Fortune
Pop sensation Selena Gomez has officially become a billionaire, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. The American singer, actress, and entrepreneur has accumulated an estimated $1.3 billion in wealth, with over 80% of her fortune stemming from her stake in the cosmetics company, Rare Beauty.
Gomez’s success as an entertainer and entrepreneur has been bolstered by brand partnerships, acting deals, and ventures in mental health startups. While she gained initial fame as a child star in Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, she expanded her career through music and business ventures.
Despite her significant music following, only a small portion of Gomez’s wealth, less than 5%, comes from music tours, with album and record sales contributing less than 2%. Since launching Rare Beauty, the brand has grown into the primary source of her wealth, contributing around $1.1 billion to her net worth.
With 424 million Instagram followers, Gomez is also one of the most influential figures on social media, trailing only football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in terms of popularity.
