Nigerian Businessman, Simon Guobadia Loses Prenup Battle to Porsha Williams
Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia is facing major financial losses after a U.S. court ruled in favour of reality TV star Porsha Williams in their ongoing divorce proceedings.
The couple, who were married for just 15 months, have been locked in a legal tussle over the enforcement of a prenuptial agreement signed prior to their November 2022 wedding. Williams, 43, filed for divorce in February 2024, citing irreconcilable differences.
According to Us Weekly, Guobadia, 61, contested the prenup on the grounds that Williams had misrepresented her intentions to leave The Real Housewives of Atlanta franchise – a claim he said influenced his decision to enter into the agreement.
Despite repeated delays in court proceedings, including Guobadia’s recent detainment by U.S. immigration authorities and subsequent return to Nigeria, the court ruled in favour of Williams.
Under the terms of the prenup, Guobadia is now required to split the equity of his $7 million pre-marital home in Atlanta with Williams and cover a number of significant debts and expenses on her behalf.
The high-profile split has attracted considerable attention online, particularly among fans of the Real Housewives franchise, where the couple’s whirlwind romance and marriage were publicly documented.
