Drake and Megan Thee Stallion

Drake Accused of Shading Megan Thee Stallion During Houston Concert

Drake, the Canadian rapper, has found himself amidst controversy after his recent tour stop in Houston, the hometown of fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion. During his concert on Monday (September 18), Drake briefly paused to acknowledge a local photographer named The Megan, whom he has worked with since the early days of his career.

While expressing his appreciation for The Megan’s contributions, Drake went out of his way to clarify that he was referring to a different Megan since he was in Houston. This distinction left some fans speculating that he might have been taking a subtle dig at Megan Thee Stallion.

“I gotta give a shoutout to somebody in here. That’s been with me since the beginning of her career. Her name is Megan,” Drake told the crowd. “Meg something, Meg Luck — whatever you know her as. She been here with me since day one — real shit, like built this ship with me. Real H-Town love shoutout to Meg one time for real. Not that Meg, this Meg.”

Following this statement, The Megan faced a wave of negative comments on Twitter. In response to one critic, she defended Drake’s clarification, stating, “He was CLARIFYING for the slow ones in the back such as yourself. People don’t know who I am like that. They hear Megan & H-Town legend and clearly would think of her. It’s not a hard concept.”

However, some fans of Megan Thee Stallion were not satisfied with the explanation and accused Drake of making a disrespectful remark in her hometown.

“What the fuck is Drake’s problem? His bitch ass always got this weird animosity and obsession with having one-sided beef with black women like leave Megan and Halle Berry tf alone,” one person tweeted.

Another added, “Drake came to Houston and tried to sneak diss Megan. He really a rap girl fr.”

Nonetheless, there were those who came to Drake’s defense, viewing the situation as being blown out of proportion. One supporter commented, “This is what all the hoopla is about?? Y’all need to touch grass. I don’t think it was that deep. Megan has been down with Drake for over a decade.”

Megan Thee Stallion and Drake’s relationship has been characterized by ups and downs. Some fans speculated that Drake’s lyrics in “Circo Loco” referenced Megan in connection with the 2020 Tory Lanez shooting, but Megan refuted these claims last November, urging listeners to avoid attaching baseless conspiracy theories to her name.
