Davido Recognized as ‘Outstanding Georgia Citizen’ by State Assembly
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been conferred with the prestigious title of ‘Outstanding Georgia Citizen’ by the State of Georgia, USA.
The acclaimed singer, famous for hits like “Unavailable,” was honoured during the State of Georgia General Assembly meeting on Friday, December 1, 2023, where he graciously accepted the recognition.
Sharing a video snippet from the assembly and a picture of his proclamation letter on Instagram, Davido expressed his gratitude, acknowledging the goodness of God.
The proclamation, signed by Brad Raffensperger, Secretary of State of the State of Georgia, designates Davido as a “Goodwill Ambassador” representing Georgia in his travels both domestically and internationally.
Having been born to Nigerian parents in Atlanta, the capital of Georgia, Davido holds citizenship in the state by birth. This acknowledgement serves to strengthen his connection to his place of birth, recognizing his accomplishments and contributions as an artist and a global ambassador for Georgia.
