Davido Says Women Have Been a Major Source of Trouble in His Career
Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about the impact of women on his career, revealing that many of his past challenges stemmed from his interactions with them.
Speaking in a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, the singer reflected on how marriage has helped him become more disciplined, particularly in distancing himself from womanising – a lifestyle he admitted once caused him serious setbacks.
The 30BG boss recounted a moment with his team, where some crew members jokingly complained about how “boring” things have become since he tied the knot. According to Davido, they expressed frustration over the absence of parties and women, saying he no longer lives like the superstar they once knew.
“The other day I walked in on my boys talking, and they said, ‘Boss, you’ve changed. Where are the girls?’” he said during the interview. “I told them, ‘When trouble comes, you’ll all disappear and I’ll be the one left to face the internet.’”
Davido, who has made headlines over the years for various controversies linked to his personal life, admitted that women have played a significant role in some of the issues he has faced.
“Women have dealt with me in my career,” he said. “I’m good now, bro. I’m not interested in that lifestyle anymore. Trust me, I’ve seen it all — the fame, the money, the parties. Nothing compares to having peace of mind.”
The singer’s comments come as he continues to embrace a more settled personal life, following his marriage to longtime partner Chioma in 2023.
