Decades After Severing Potential $40,000,000 Reebok Ties, Shaquille O’Neal Ordered 1000 Pairs of Size 22 Shoes

Shaquille O’Neal, a towering presence in the NBA, struggled to find shoes that fit his size 22 feet until Reebok and their Shaq Attaq line came along.

After seven years, Shaq left Reebok and turned down a $40 million deal to pursue making more affordable shoes, eventually finding a partner in TOMS.

TOMS’ “buy one, donate one” philosophy resonated with Shaq’s generosity, leading to their partnership, where he ordered 1000 pairs of size 22 TOMS shoes to distribute to those in need.
Shaquille O’Neal’s introduction to TOMS in 2019 sparked his interest in their stylish shoes and their commitment to donating a pair for every purchase.

While TOMS didn’t make size 22 shoes initially, Shaq’s order of 1000 pairs kickstarted their collaboration and his desire to provide shoes to those in third-world countries.

In addition to TOMS, Shaq has also found success with his own line of affordable shoes, sold through Walmart, with impressive sales of over 350 million pairs.

Shaquille O’Neal’s decision to walk away from a $40 million deal with Reebok in 1999 led to his collaboration with Walmart to create Shaq Shoes, which sold around 120 million pairs in 2016.

Shaq’s commitment to helping others and his philanthropic efforts make him an exceptional role model.
