DJ Cuppy Makes History as First Nigerian to Host Youth Session at UN General Assembly
Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has made history by becoming the first Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The renowned DJ and daughter of billionaire Femi Otedola moderated the Youth Action Day at the 2024 UNGA, themed “The Summit of the Future – Youth Actions Day.”
In addition to her role as a moderator, Cuppy also gave a musical performance following her keynote speech, adding a vibrant touch to the historic event. Her session marked the largest youth gathering ever held at the UN Headquarters.

Key figures in attendance included the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and Cape Verde’s president, José Maria Neves, who also participated in the significant event focused on empowering young voices.
