DJ Khaled Almost Lost His Mansion After Struggling to Pay His Bills

In a recent Rolling Stone cover feature, DJ Khaled candidly shared details about his financial challenges in the mid-2010s, almost resulting in the loss of his mansion.

The renowned music mogul, revered for his motivational speeches and music success, disclosed a rare glimpse into his personal life during an interview for the magazine.

Khaled admitted to making financial missteps around 2015, confessing that he was not managing his finances wisely before achieving success with his Snapchat content and the chart-topping “Major Key” album in the subsequent year.

Despite his thriving career now, there was a time when the hitmaker of “God Did” faced the daunting task of coming up with a substantial rent payment to retain his Miami home after heavily investing his capital in his We The Best company.

Recalling the challenging period, Khaled mentioned, “I remember I had like a month to come up with this [large] amount of money. I kept saying, ‘There’s no way in the world that we worked this much this far and we don’t have nothing to show for it.’ I changed that right away. I was like, ‘Yo, if I want a family, I got to get my sh*t right.’ And I gambled on myself. I always bet on myself from day one. But I tripled down that day.”

Despite his subsequent success, DJ Khaled emphasized his reliance on intuition rather than analytical data in making creative decisions.

He highlighted the significance of authenticity and being present in the field, contrasting it with those who base decisions solely on analytics without true experience or passion for the craft.

Discussing his forthcoming album “Til Next Time,” Khaled clarified that it does not signal his retirement but represents a significant shift in his career trajectory.

He affirmed, “I’m treating it like it’s my last album. But it’s not a goodbye. You’re going to start seeing and hearing about all these new things that I’m doing. I’m going to be doing more TV and film. We taking over the TV and film.”

Khaled sees the album as a stepping stone to showcase his multifaceted ventures across various industries, indicating a significant expansion beyond music and into television and film endeavors.
