Do2dtun Raises Concerns Over 2Face’s Apology Video, Claims Singer Is Being Manipulated

Popular Nigerian media personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, known as Do2dtun, has expressed concern over what he describes as the emotional state and public image management of music legend 2Face Idibia following the release of an apology video by the singer.

2Face, also known as Innocent Idibia, had earlier apologised in a video to his partner Natasha Osawuru and his children after facing backlash for his controversial statement claiming that “men are not naturally built to be sexually committed to one woman.” The apology sparked widespread conversation online, with many questioning both the motive and tone behind the retraction.

Reacting in a series of posts on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Do2dtun suggested that 2Face may have been pressured into making the apology, describing the video as uncharacteristic of the singer. “Please I don’t like this 2Face I’m seeing. Something is not right at all,” he wrote.

“He can express himself how he chooses to, but why always make him retract a video or make an apology like a child? He is vulnerable, and someone is milking it. Whoever is holding that camera is wicked.”

Do2dtun, who has been vocal about mental health and media transparency in the past, went further to suggest that 2Face’s behavior was a sign of emotional regression, pointing out that the veteran singer has rarely addressed public scandals in such a manner throughout his career. “Someone is forcing him to be who he is not,” he said.

While acknowledging that the apology video may have been intended to calm tensions, Do2dtun questioned the motive behind it, arguing that it may have served someone else’s interest rather than the singer’s well-being or public image. “It’s not for his brand. It’s for the person who pushed him to do it,” he wrote.

He also urged that the legendary African Queen singer seek professional support, stating: “2Face needs help. Therapy might do him some good.”

The emotional fallout comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of 2Face’s personal life, particularly his recent separation from longtime partner Annie Idibia and his evolving relationship with Natasha Osawuru.
