Magoo: Former Rap Partner of Timbaland Passes Away at 50

Magoo, renowned as one-half of the iconic hip-hop duo Timbaland & Magoo, has tragically passed away at the age of 50.

The heartbreaking news of the rapper’s demise was confirmed through an Instagram post shared by R&B artist Digital Black (Benjamin Bush) from Dru Hill and Playa on Sunday night.

“Man can’t believe this RIP Magoo damn big bro wasn’t ready for this at all #superfriends [sic],” Digital Black expressed in the post.

The cause of Magoo’s untimely death remains undisclosed.

Ginuwine, the esteemed American R&B singer also known as Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, seemed to pay tribute to the late star through a heartfelt post on social media. He wrote, “Times get rough but we keep on pushing just heard some news I hope it ain’t true… I just want everyone to know that time is short love who you love and make sure they know it.”

Among Magoo’s – whose real name was Melvin Magoo Barcliff – most beloved tracks were Up Jumps Da’ Boogie, We at it Again, and Party People.

The rapper commenced his career in 1989 when he crossed paths with Timbaland – also known as Timothy Zachery Mosley – during their teenage years.
