‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ Will Break Record, Make N5bn – Funke Akindele
Renowned Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has set an ambitious target for her upcoming movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, projecting it will earn ₦5 billion at the box office when it hits cinemas this December.
In a widely shared video featuring members of the film’s cast, Akindele confidently declared her expectations for the movie’s success, stating, “We are making ₦5 billion this year.”
If the film achieves this milestone, it will surpass the record set by Akindele’s earlier blockbuster, A Tribe Called Judah, which became the first Nigerian movie to gross over ₦1 billion.
The much-anticipated premiere of Everybody Loves Jenifa took place on Sunday night in Lagos and attracted a host of celebrities, including Eniola Badmus, Akindele’s formerly estranged friend.
The film marks the return of the beloved “Jenifa” character and is expected to draw massive audiences, potentially setting new records in the Nigerian film industry.
