Falz Says Plantain is a Deal Breaker in Relationships, Shares Food Preferences
Nigerian rapper and actor Falz, whose real name is Folarin Falana, has revealed just how important food is to him – especially when it comes to love.
Taking to his X account on Saturday, Falz joked that a dislike for plantains would be enough reason for him to end a relationship. “Not liking plantain is serious grounds for break up,” he posted, making it clear how much he values the popular dish.
The rapper also shared more about his favorite meals, noting that he could happily eat boiled yam and fried eggs every day without getting tired. “One meal I can eat everyday for the rest of my life – boiled yam and fried eggs,” he added.
However, not all foods earned his approval. Falz took a jab at semovita, commonly known as semo, suggesting that it shouldn’t even be classified as food. “I wouldn’t advise eating semo in the morning… or any time of the day in fact. It shouldn’t be food,” he wrote.
His comments about semo quickly stirred debate among fans online, with many disagreeing and defending their love for the staple.
