Federal Government Partners with Bloomberg to Rebrand Nigeria’s Global Image

The Nigerian government has announced plans to collaborate with Bloomberg on a two-year initiative aimed at reshaping the country’s international reputation and attracting foreign investment.

This development was disclosed in a statement by the Federal Ministry of Finance on Thursday via its official X (formerly Twitter) account. The partnership, spearheaded by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), seeks to rebrand Nigeria’s image and highlight its economic potential to a global audience.

At a meeting with Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, Bloomberg’s Global Director, Nicole Keefe, reiterated the company’s dedication to promoting Nigeria’s achievements and opportunities. “Bloomberg plans to leverage its extensive media network to address investor concerns tied to outdated or negative perceptions and showcase Nigeria’s progress,” she said.

Armstrong Takang, CEO of MOFI, emphasized that the partnership would spotlight key government initiatives, including the Real Estate Investment Fund and gas pipeline projects, as part of efforts to attract investors to critical sectors of the economy.

The rebranding initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to enhance Nigeria’s global standing and boost foreign direct investment.
