Flutterwave Earns Spot on CNBC and Statista’s 2025 World’s Top Fintech Companies List
Flutterwave has been recognised as one of the world’s leading financial technology companies after being included in the 2025 World’s Top Fintech Companies ranking compiled by CNBC in partnership with market research firm Statista.
The recognition highlights the African payments company’s contributions to financial technology through its payment infrastructure, cross-border commerce solutions and continued focus on innovation across the continent and beyond.
Published annually, the CNBC and Statista ranking honours fintech firms that are making a significant impact across the global financial services industry through innovation, customer-focused products and technological advancement.
Flutterwave’s inclusion comes as the company marks 10 years of operations, during which it has developed financial infrastructure aimed at connecting African businesses with global markets.
Reacting to the recognition, Flutterwave’s Head of Marketing, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, said: “Being recognized by CNBC among the world’s leading fintech companies is a testament to the work our team has done to build technology that solves real problems for businesses and individuals.
“As we celebrate ten years of Flutterwave, this recognition is a reflection of how far we’ve come and inspires us to continue building financial solutions that help businesses grow, scale globally, and unlock new opportunities.”
The latest accolade follows Flutterwave’s inclusion in the 2025 TIME100 Most Influential Companies list, further strengthening its international profile as a key player in financial technology.
The company currently operates in more than 30 African countries, supports transactions in over 50 currencies and says it has processed more than one billion transactions with a combined value exceeding $50 billion.
Its products, including Flutterwave for Business and Send App, are designed to simplify digital payments, support cross-border trade and improve access to financial services for businesses and individuals.
As it enters its second decade, Flutterwave is broadening its services beyond payments. The company has expanded through the acquisition of open banking startup Mono, securing a Nigerian Microfinance Banking Licence, and developing stablecoin-powered payment solutions in partnership with Polygon and Turnkey.
Supported by strategic investments from Ripple and Circle, Flutterwave says it is strengthening its mission of connecting African businesses with global markets while helping businesses manage, move and grow their finances through an integrated financial platform.
