Germany Recalls 59,000 Tesla Cars Over Global ‘Software Glitch’

Following the discovery of a “software glitch” in 59,000 Tesla vehicles, German regulators have announced a recall on all the affected vehicles.

The recall pertains to Tesla models Y and 3, though it is unclear how many of the 59,000 affected vehicles are registered in Germany, according to Reuters.

According to the country’s road traffic agency, the glitch impacts the car’s ability to contact first responders in the event of a serious accident.

The recall is only the most recent in a spate of tech issues for Tesla this year.

It would be recalled that Musk’s company has had to recall more than 700,000 vehicles since April, many of them more than once.

The green energy company hasn’t been the only car manufacturer to suffer large recalls with Ford also announcing a recall of 350,000 of its vehicles in mid-May.
