‘Gladiator’ Sequel On-Set Accident Injures ‘Several Crew Members’

An accident occurred on the set of the upcoming “Gladiator” sequel, resulting in injuries to multiple individuals involved in the production.

Paramount Pictures confirmed the incident in a statement to CNN, stating that the accident took place during the filming of a planned stunt sequence.

The spokesperson emphasized that the injuries sustained by several crew members were non-life-threatening.

Thanks to the prompt response of the on-site safety and medical teams, the affected individuals received immediate care and are currently in stable condition, continuing to receive treatment.
According to Variety, the accident occurred on the set of the ‘Gladiator’ sequel in Morocco, and a total of six people received treatment for burn injuries.

Paramount Pictures expressed their commitment to the well-being of the cast and crew, emphasizing that they have stringent health and safety protocols in place for all their productions.

They will continue to closely monitor the situation and implement necessary precautions as they resume production.

Directed by Ridley Scott, who also directed the original film, the “Gladiator” sequel features returning cast members Connie Nielsen and Derek Jacobi.

Additionally, it includes new additions to the franchise such as Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, and Joseph Quinn, known for his role in “Stranger Things 4.” The film is scheduled for release in November 2024.
