Kanye West’s Encounter with Ex-Trainer Creates Stir in Dubai Hotel
Kanye West found himself in the midst of a hotel encounter with his former personal trainer, Harley Pasternak, during his stay at the Atlantis hotel in Dubai on Monday night.
Reports suggest that West, believing Pasternak was stalking him after purported sightings at the same hotel, approached his ex-trainer in an attempt to embrace him. However, Pasternak allegedly rebuffed the advance and sought assistance from the concierge to involve hotel security.
Security was summoned, but by the time they arrived, Kanye and his entourage had left the scene. It is noted that there was no further contact between the two parties after the security intervention.
The incident allegedly began when West recorded Pasternak interacting with hotel staff, prompting discomfort within the rapper’s camp. The history between the two is complex, marked by Kanye’s hospitalization in 2016 following an alleged mental health episode at Pasternak’s residence.
Last year, West shared text messages he claimed were from Pasternak, outlining two options involving a conversation or institutionalization. He later blamed Pasternak for his hospitalization, asserting a misdiagnosis of his mental health.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Pasternak detailed witnessing Kanye’s unusual behaviors during the 2016 breakdown, such as writing Bible verses on bedsheets and drawing spaceships with a Sharpie. Pasternak also claimed West packed suitcases with pots, pans, and tupperware.
Kanye West is reportedly in Dubai to celebrate Thanksgiving with his children, while Pasternak is said to own gyms in the country, making him a regular visitor. The encounter adds another chapter to the complex relationship between the rapper and his former trainer.
